Job Description
Experienced Java Developer with expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, cloud-native microservices using Java 25 and Spring Boot 4. Proven ability to build high-performance backend applications following modern software engineering best practices, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable microservices using Java 25 and Spring Boot 4.
Develop secure, high-performance RESTful APIs for enterprise applications.
Integrate with external systems through SOAP web services and REST APIs.
Build and maintain event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka for asynchronous messaging and real-time data processing.
Design and optimise relational database solutions using PostgreSQL and Oracle, including schema design, query optimisation, and data modelling.
Deploy, monitor, and support cloud-native applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and solution architects to deliver high-quality software.
Participate in system design, code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
Ensure applications meet security, scalability, availability, and performance requirements.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java 25 and Spring Boot 4.
Solid understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native application development.
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating SOAP web services.
Hands-on experience implementing event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
Proficiency with relational databases, including PostgreSQL and Oracle, with experience in SQL, data modelling, and query optimisation.
Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Familiarity with Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and dependency injection.
Experience with build and dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle.
Strong knowledge of Git and collaborative version control workflows.
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), and deployment automation.
Knowledge of software design principles, design patterns, and object-oriented programming.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
