Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization – Senior Consultant
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization – Senior Consultant to support a remote project. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, Kubernetes/OpenShift cluster management, and hybrid/multi-cluster environments.
The consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting OpenShift Virtualization environments, with particular emphasis on VM workloads, Hosted Control Planes, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM), ACM policies, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
This role requires a highly capable self-starter who can work independently, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and provide practical guidance across OpenShift and virtualization environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environments.
Manage virtual machine workloads, including VM lifecycle, networking, storage, migration, and troubleshooting.
Administer and manage OpenShift clusters across enterprise environments.
Work with Hosted Control Planes (HCP) and hosted OpenShift clusters.
Manage clusters through Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM).
Develop, configure, and maintain ACM policies and policy groups.
Apply ACM policies for cluster governance, configuration, compliance, and workload management.
Troubleshoot policy compliance and cluster configuration issues.
Implement and manage RBAC across OpenShift and associated platforms.
Support authentication, authorization, permissions, service accounts, and access controls.
Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
Produce technical documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
Provide technical recommendations and contribute to architecture and implementation decisions.
Proactively identify risks, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Work independently and take ownership of assigned technical deliverables
Requirements
Primary Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.
Red Hat Certified Specialist certification in OpenShift Virtualization or equivalent practical expertise.
Extensive experience managing OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters.
Strong experience working with virtual machines and VM-based workloads.
Secondary Skills
Hosted Control Planes (HCP).
Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM).
Strong knowledge of ACM policies and policy groups.
Hands-on experience managing clusters using RHACM policies.
Strong understanding and practical experience with RBAC.
OpenShift networking and storage concepts.
Kubernetes/OpenShift security and access management.
Required Experience
Recent, hands-on experience with RHACM and ACM policies is highly important.
Proven experience managing clusters, including hosted clusters, using RHACM policies.
Good-depth knowledge of ACM policies and policy groups, including their practical implementation and troubleshooting.
Strong experience on the VM side of OpenShift Virtualization.
Experience with Hosted Control Planes and hosted clusters.
Solid understanding of RBAC and enterprise access-control models.
Ability to troubleshoot complex OpenShift Virtualization and cluster-management issues independently.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
