Senior Cloud Architect / Engineer
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Architect/Engineer to lead a large-scale migration from VMware NSX-V to NSX-T within a complex, multi-tenant cloud infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge with a hands-on approach, ensuring a seamless migration and optimization of the network and virtualization environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze existing NSX-V infrastructure and design the target NSX-T architecture ensuring full compatibility with vCloud Director (VCD) services.
• Develop and document a comprehensive migration strategy (in-place, lift-and-shift, or side-by-side) that minimizes downtime and service disruption.
• Implement NSX-T components including routing, distributed firewall, and VPN configurations.
• Execute the migration process from NSX-V to NSX-T for multiple VCD Organizations.
• Perform extensive testing and validation to confirm stability, performance, and security post-migration.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration with vCenter, vSphere, and cloud orchestration platforms.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation including architecture diagrams and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Troubleshoot complex networking issues and provide expert-level technical support during and after migration.
Mandatory Skills:
• Proven hands-on experience with VMware NSX-V and NSX-T (NSX Data Center).
• Strong understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDN) principles and architectures.
• Solid background in VMware vCloud Director (VCD) for network and resource orchestration.
• Proficiency in VMware vCenter Server and vSphere for managing virtualized environments.
• Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, load balancing, and network security in multi-tenant setups.
• Experience with migration projects involving large-scale or complex infrastructures.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
Preferred Skills
• VMware certifications such as VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, or equivalent.
• Experience with multi-tenant cloud environments and network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerCLI).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions for VMware and SDN environments.
• Background in enterprise cloud migration or datacenter transformation projects.
• Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in cross-functional teams.
• Additional European language skills (Italian, German, or French) are a plus.
