Lead Data Migration Expert
Job Description
We're looking for an expert who has previously delivered on a Teradata to Snowflake migration.
You'll lead a migration for a company in the Telco industry, going from Teradata to Snowflake.
In addition to this, ETL workloads built using Informatica need to be migrated to Snowflake as well.
The engagement will start with leading a migration workshop and subsequently, you can help form the team that executes the full migration.
What You'll Do
• Lead the initial migration workshop
• Analyse the current Teradata and Informatica setup (schemas, workloads, ETL, performance)
• Define the migration scope, approach, risks, and team needs
• Act as lead architect during execution
• Guide SQL/code conversion, data model migration, workload optimisation
• Help select and lead the migration team
Requirements
Knock-out Criteria
• Deep hands-on experience with Teradata
• Strong expertise with Snowflake
• Proven Teradata to Snowflake migration delivered end-to-end
• Able to run workshops, assess environments, and define migration roadmaps
Skills
• 5+ years in data engineering/architecture
• Experience with Teradata & Snowflake
• Experience with Informatica
• Experience with a Teradata to Snowflake migration
• Confident communicator with experience leading technical workshops
• Experience with SQL conversion/migration tooling
• Broader cloud experience (AWS)
• Snowflake advanced features (Snowpark, Dynamic Tables, governance)
• Prior leadership of large-scale data-platform migrations
• Experience within the telco industry
