Senior QA / Automation Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior QA / Automation Engineer to build and scale comprehensive testing frameworks that ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our software platform. In this role, you will transition the engineering culture toward automation-first quality assurance, integrating robust test suites directly into deployment pipelines to guarantee that no faulty code reaches production. You will act as the primary advocate for quality, partnering with development teams to embed reliability into the software lifecycle from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Test Framework Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks covering unit, integration, API contract, and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
CI/CD Integration: Embed automated test suites directly into deployment pipelines to create strict quality gates that automatically block the release of untested or failing code.
Performance & Reliability: Execute load, stress, and smoke testing to validate system behavior and reliability under peak production conditions.
Quality Advocacy: Establish engineering quality standards and mentor development teams on test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and effective testing practices.
Defect Management: Partner closely with backend and frontend engineers to isolate, reproduce, and resolve complex system defects before they impact the end user.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a primary focus on building automated test frameworks from the ground up.
Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, TypeScript, or C#) to write robust, maintainable test scripts.
Testing Tools: Deep expertise with modern automation and testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured).
Pipeline Automation: Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining automated testing stages within enterprise CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
System Knowledge: Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native application patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience introducing automated testing strategies to legacy platforms or monolithic architectures.
Familiarity with incorporating automated security testing (e.g., Snyk, SonarQube) into the broader quality assurance lifecycle.
